Oh boy, where do I even start with this vid? I feel like I've been telling this story over and over since last week. Basically, last summer I was listening to a lot of Lemon Demon and when I discovered Two Trucks I immediately wanted to vid it, because I love ridiculousness. I didn't however immediately know what I wanted to vid the song to.

Now for Neery's side, she'd already been part of the Transformers fandom for a while, so I had heard her talk about it quite a bit. Personally, I'd never interacted with the fandom in any way beyond watching the first Michael Bay movie when I was like 16 and moderately enjoying it.

So when the inspiration hit me that this would be the perfect song for a Transformers vid, I didn't immediately think I was ever going to actually make it. It was one of those cases where I felt like the vid had to exist, but I didn't really want to be the one to make it happen, since it would clearly be an absolutely insane amount of work. So I kind of filed it away in my head for a while. Until I made the mistake (?) of actually telling Neery about it. She'd been thinking about getting into vidding for a while, and she liked the idea so much that she made me an offer I couldn't refuse: She would help me acquire all the different sources, and she would do most of the clipping for me. (I did end up mostly clipping the Gen1 Transformers cartoon, while she clipped all the other sources)

So what followed was over half a year of sharing ridiculous clips with each other, marvelling at how much sex these trucks have in all the different continuities, trying to find good YouTube clips of people mashing action figures together (surprisingly difficult!) and watching the Gen1 cartoon in Russian. It was A LOT of work for a very ridiculous end result. And I'm glad we did it! Thank you again, Neery, for going on this journey with me!
