findmeinthealpsThe gf and I are off to London today, where we'll spend a few days before moving on to Cardiff for vidukon. This'll be the first time I'm premiering a vid at a con and I'm very excited (and slightly terrified) already.
While we're in London we're also going to see Hamilton, because I can't just go to a city that has a Hamilton production and not see Hamilton. I'm looking forward to seeing Jamael Westman perform again, he's amazing. The cast has changed a bit since the last time I've seen it, so that'll be interesting too.
Speaking of cons, I spent some time yesterday in a panic because I'd just realized that I hadn't been following the fanworks comm here, and so I missed out on a bunch of vital information such as vid show themes and deadlines and hotel room sharing. I've already got one premiere finished and another one almost finished, but neither of them fit the Ignite theme, so I might try to crank out another vid until July 7th. I was very delighted to see there's a cartoon vidshow, because of course that's my whole jam. It'll be hard to decide which of my old Gravity Falls vids I want to submit for it. I still love them all. There's also that one vid that's been sitting around at 75% finished for more than 3 years now... but dare I open that project again? I don't know.
I'm beating myself up a little because I didn't plan this stuff out sooner. I'm still not used to working with deadlines, and general con-planning. Hopefully next time I will have learned my lesson. I messed up and booked a room in a different hotel next to the con hotel, because the reservation there wasn't working for a while and I didn't know that it would be fixed. Nothing I can do about that now, and I guess it won't be too bad, but it's still annoying.
