Some behind the scenes commentary on this vid:
- For Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time, I rewatched all the MCU movies in order. While doing that I realized that Nick Fury is actually my favorite MCU character (though he might have to share that spot with Tony - I have a hard time picking absolute faves). I mean I'll watch Iron Man 2 or Age of Ultron just for him. I'll even admit when the Captain Marvel trailer first dropped, my first reaction was "OMG, we're finally getting some Nick Fury backstory!"
- So the idea for a Fury vid had been rattling around in my head for a while, but it took some time to find a song, and then it also took a very long time to finish Don't Threaten Me
- So when I finally started working on this vid, it was Wednesday night before the FanWorks deadline on Sunday, July 7th. I thought there was no chance in hell I could make it. I ended up being very wrong about that, because I had mostly finished the vid with a full timeline by Friday night. I'm pretty sure it's the fastest I've ever finished a full song vid, and honestly I still have no idea how I even did it. Everything just kind of fell into place and it was magical.
- Far From Home came out on the 4th of July here and I saw it right away, worried that I would want to postpone the vid to be able to use it. [Spoilers: Of course then it turned out it wasn't actually him in that movie, so I felt fine about excluding it - except I had already used the one scene from the trailer. I decided to keep it, since the line "You'll see me again" is still somewhat true even if it's not really him. Also because it's funny.]
- The range of emotions Sam Jackson can express with just one eye is amazing to me and I honestly feel like he doesn't get enough credit as an actor.
